The dock at Freeport had various shops.  The local shopkeepers are somewhat intimidating insisting that you come into their shop.  They aren't as friendly as Mexico or other places in the Caribbean that I've been.  We didn't go beyond the port itself as it was unusually cold however I'm told that Port Lucaya and other places in Freeport beyond the port are very nice.

Freeport

Cool little town.  There were 3 Carnival ships docked including ours, Disney Magic, Norwegian Gem and the Regent Seven Seas Navigator so the town itself was quite busy.  We found shopping to be a please with deals to be had.  The people themselves are not nearly as friendly however as other places in the Caribbean that we'v been to.

Nassau

Good location, Only scalding water from both sink faucet and shower, Balcony not accessible 2 separate days because of cleaning, overwhelming cigarette smoke on balcony.

*We had a balcony room and the use of the balcony was restricted on 2 separate days for several hours each day because of cleaning.No attempt was made to shuffle ports and since we only had 3 ports on a 7 day cruise it was pretty disappointing.
