Arrived in FL 3 days in advance of the cruise. Rented a car with Enterprise at the Orlando airport and returned it to the Enterprise Cape Canaveral location the morning of embarkation. No upcharge for this convenience plus they shuttle right to the port. We were checked in and on board by 11 AM.
Cabin: Interior Cloud 9 Spa #11227. Very spacious room with great storage and big bathroom. No noise from adjoining cabins and quiet hallway. Staircase to the spa & Serenity Deck was right around the corner to the front of the ship; main elevators just down the hall the other direction; EZ walk to the Lido. Loved the location of this room. Small fridge in the room.
Food: Quality & selection in the dining room has been reduced since our last Carnival Cruise 11 months ago, however I have no complaints about the overall experience. Excellent service in the main DR. Loved the Tandoori and Mongolian options for lunch.
Beverages: One of my biggest complaints is the lack of availability to iced tea/lemonade/ice water. The only place to get these was at the back of the ship on Deck 10. Even when the special BBQ lunch was served on sea days on deck 5 there were no free beverages except on Deck 10 aft. Crazy. How hard is it to have a couple more water & tea dispensers around the ship? We brought our own wine and a few sodas.
Ship cleanliness: A++ score to Carnival on this. Everything was spotless.
Ports of call: In Cozumel we took a taxi to Corona Beach ($10 each way for the taxi) where we snorkeled from shore. Bought a couple drinks and snacks from the friendly owner; no charge to use the facilities. In Belize we had prearranged with V.I.V. tours for the cave tubing ($40 pp). Well organized but not exactly what was advertized. Spent just under 1 hour on the river when I had been told we would have 1-1/2 hrs and went with a group of 9 when I had been told the max group size was 8. Nonetheless it was an interesting excursion. In Roatan we had prearranged for a private guide for the day thru Victor Bodden for $80 for the 2 of us. Nice overview of the island with many stops including time to snorkel. In Costa Maya we took a taxi to the southern end of the town ($2 pp each way) and snorkeled from shore. Free use of loungers on the beach as long as you order a drink.
Entertainment: went to 4 of the late night comedy shows. 2 were fabulous; 2 were boring. Not impressed with Cruise director Gary and I'm just not interested in the song & dance shows.
Debarkation: well organized and smooth. Luggage is on a carousel (like at the airport). 15 minutes from when we left breakfast till we were in the shuttle back to Enterprise Car Rental.
