WOW this is BIG!

Sail Date: December 2011
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We've been on 19 cruise ships - some 2 and 3 times - but this ship takes the cake, icing, decorations, candles and all! We usually book balcony cabins on 7+ days but for this cruise we could not afford it, we went with the cheaper 'Park View Balcony' It takes some getting used to, because you lose your privacy your view is down and a very lushly landscaped park, restaurants and shops but look straight out and you see everyone else's balcony and rooms. NOT GOOD :-(
The Entertainment was FIRST CLASS - we've seen ALOT of shows, slept thru a few too, but RCC has really stepped it up - the cast of Hairspray was FABULOUS, the comedians were tear jerking funny, the Ice Skaters performances & costumes were divine, and the WATER SHOW - well hard to believe I saw a CIRQUE DE SOLIE quality show on a MOVING SHIP!!

The food, was a lack luster. RCC is known for the fine dinning but even the specialty restaurant we paid extra for left us disappointed. Service was just good enough More nothing above and beyond what you would get at your local Chili's - YES CHILI's service at a premium price.

Ths SPA - Hair staff - junior stylist status - asked for curls got flat hair they didn't want to wash. If you wish to use the Sauna / Steam rooms you must pay - NOT CHEAP!

The Casino - WELL - if you're going to make a ship to hold 6000+ passengers your casino better be bigger than a basement man cave - THAT's what it felt like - room divided in two smoking & non-smoking - hardest place to find unless you fell down the spiral stair case from the promenade.

WHAT I WAS IMPRESSED BY - Besides the amazing entertainment - they finally figured out 'FACE RECOGNITION' and used it to the benefit in the photo gallery! Nut shell - your sail n sign has a folio number - you go to this LARGE area filed with spiral notebooks - NICELY ORGANIZED - find your folio number on the notebook and TADAAAAAA ALL THE PICTURES THEY TOOK OF YOU ARE THERE - EVEN THOSE ON SHORE!!! FREAKING AMAZING and about time somebody got it right.
ALL IN ALL - FABULOUS too big for our taste but you have to see it to believe it and it's worth the so so food to ride this monster of a ship! Less

Cabin review: Oasis of the Seas Crown Loft Suite Deck 17 10319

Spacious, comfortable Park View Balcony - not private, could see everyone else's balcony. Felt like an apartment building view of the neighbors. The cabin itself was decent. Decor was tasteful and relaxing. Bathroom was bigger than your average ship but not by much. Overall very nice.

Port and Shore Excursions

The main port shops have all just about closed down :-( Bacardi is gone and the perfume shops dominate the road. We like walking around Atlantis, but take a taxi - the water taxi drops you off under a bridge and your left to find your way in on your own.

Love this little island, SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING and I come home with a crown for saving us money on the bar refill!

Lovely island. Great beaches, but if your docking in St. Marteen - don't shop here! Liquor and Jewelry are cheaper a stones throw away.
