Ship Facts: Majesty of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Majesty of the Seas Deck Plans
New Years on Majesty
Decided to do the New Years Eve cruise as my wife`s Christmas present this year. Have done the Majesty a total of 4 times. It makes for a great weekend getaway.

The flight into Miami and cab to the cruise port seem to work well as they are scheduled. Once again, perfect timing. We were one of the first 100 people on the ship. No lines, no wait, check in and right to lunch. Enjoyed the lunch and right out to the pool for some sun and a drink.

Rooms were ready at 1 p.m. the luggage was there so we were off to a good start.

Food, the selection of food on the buffet was outstanding and the lines were really quite managable no matter when we were in the buffet. Good service by the wait staff. The quality of the food exceeds Royal Caribbeans competition in this price range. You really do get what you pay for.

One negative was the limited menu presented for New Years Eve. Ony three choices each for entrees, appetizers, or salads. Was seated at a table with two older couples from Miami. Both were diamond plus cruisers so they were a little demanding of the wait staff it was slightly embarassing for all.

Ports, Coco Cay is a perfect gem of a beach. You can do as little as you want or as much as you want. If you want a perfect beach day with plenty of seclusion just keep walking until you hit the barefoot beach section. No one there and a perfect beach.

Nassau is Nassau, been there a few times. Walked around for a little bought some flavored rum and back to the ship. However, New Years Eve parked about a mile offshore of Nassau watching the fireworks was a spectacular way to celebrate News Years Eve. Something we had not done before and greatly enjoyed it. If you have not done a New Years cruise beofre I suggest giving it a try.

Sunday night was time for some casino action. The staff was very good, asking for your name and addressing you by it. Good service in the casino.

Self assitied off the ship Monday morning. Back to the airport, and home by 4 p.m.

The Majesty is the oldest ship in the RC fleet. it is almost 20 years old but it does well on this run from Miami and back. It is a great weekend getaway and is usually nicely priced. The News Years pricing was almost double the regular pricing a little highway robbery. But the ship was full so RC knows what they are doing.
