This was the first cruise for the Norwegian Jade after a complete refurbishing and the interior decor and carpeting and the exterior paint was exceptionally good. The elevators were plentiful and fast. The entertainment was very good. The films on the TV were poor. Why show 'Roman Holiday' three nights in a row.
The stateroom service was excellent.
We did not visit any specialty restaurants nor did we gamble except for bingo or use the spa. The dining room service was mostly good although after waiting one and one-half hours to be served at breakfast, we opted for the morning buffet. The house-wine was Tisdale at $25/bottle which is outrageous since we can buy the same wine for $11 for three bottles.
The stateroom was a disappointment when compared to the NCL Sun. The toilet space was very cramped and there was insufficient room to reach around to wipe your behind. It's not fun having to wash after every No. 2. You had to sit sideways on the toilet and stick your knees into the basin area. They never should have installed that useless sliding door and used that space to allow for more room to properly cleanse yourself. All 110 volt outlets are installed incorrectly. The grounding plug should be at the bottom. When we tried to plug in a night light, the closeness of the adjacent horizontal surface would not allow it.
The pre-purchase of $250 credit for your next cruise is a good deal. We just used it as a down payment for our next cruise.
The embarkation and disembarkation was efficient but your own taxi to/from BCN or downtown Barcelona is cheaper. Also be aware that the ship's bus will only drop you off at three defined places.
