Ship Facts: MSC Poesia Review (by Cruise Critic!) | MSC Poesia Deck Plans
MSC POESIA Dec.6-16- Dec-16-23, 2011
Ok lets start with sayin this ship is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

Clean clean clean!!!

The Good and Bad,

So,..... Stayed in the superior cabin #12049 on the 12th floor. Nice room, bigger than I expected. Deep reds and gold ,black colours to decorate the room. The bed was REALLY hard as a rock, pillows well hard as a rock and very very tiny..( did ask for bigger pillows from room steward, and she did get them for me) There was alot of storage space in cabin, bathroom was ok for its size. Balcony was bigger than normal was set on a angle, 2 chairs and a table.. great views!!

The huge problem with this room was the NOISE from up above. Found out to or amazement that our room and the the room next to us was right under the PING PONG tables. So imagine the noise of people jumping, running and squeaking of the shoes ALL day long until dinner time, forget about a afternoon nap!! This room is under deck 13 which is the main deck for pools, lunch, dinners, bars. So you get alot of traffic. This room also was near the front of the ship, I don't suggest this room. but if you like the rolling up and down motion of a ship. This was very predominate at times as it seemed the ship didn't employ the ship stabilizer's for any length of time... Rolling Rolling Rolling!! We stayed in room 90199 on second leg of this cruise. Room was nice, soothing blues decorated this room. The room was alot smaller than 12049, but the bed and pillows made up for it and there was no noise from the PING PONG Table from room 12049. The bathroom was smaller also. Needed more storage, but again is a smaller cabin. But still very nice! This cabin is close to the back of the ship on the 9th floor. We did get some nights with a very high vibration from the engines, thought that was a little strange being so fare away for them.. Oh ya our steward in this cabin was, well not so good, she kept leaving or balcony door open and unlocked every single day for 7 days...So you can imagine when we get back how HOT it was in the room.. Mentioned it to her every day and all she said , was oh sorry so sorry!!.. No idea why it was such a deal to lock and close the door....

The food was well.....

Breakfast was good seemed to have same choices everyday, but was ok, filled my tummy good everyday!

Lunch was good, had alot of choices.. BUT very crowed when it came 12 pm, WOW LINES LINES LINES!!!

In main dining room was just ok, stick to Italian , not steak, as they seem not to be able to cook your steak to order is always MED-Well done even if you order Rare, seems strange!! We dined 9-17 days in main restaurant, JUST got real bored of the food. The last night of our cruise we waited 45 minutes just get or first serving for our dinner. We only the 2 of us at our table. Most of the time the food was lukewarm to cold... The best thing we found was to go to the buffet at night and enjoy different flavours and food. You have a much better choice!! So food was only ok at best in dinning room.... You just need them to improve on the food a little....

Entertainment......

Well there just did not seem to be very much of it.. Not to mention when they did play games took for ever to play as the host had to speak so many different languages...... Got real tired of hearing that after a while, First leg of the cruise had like 15-25 kids, the second leg of our cruise was over 600 kids, OMG, was so many screaming kids, and no adults around to make them behave...

The shows at night were good, very Italian, which was really nice, opera was great all over the ship!

You must go to the Wine bar on this ship.... if you do not go ,our missing a great atmosphere here. The staff are amazing the best we had on any cruise line... The wine is pricey but hey your on vacation... Great job girls!!

I have to say the staff on this ship are very friendly, you get more bees with honey than vinegar.. A smile and a hello get you a great response back!!! Never had one problem with talking or greetings from staff.

All in all was a good cruise, would I sail with them again, YES of course.. Would I recommend it to friends indeed YES. 3 times is charming lets go for 4, ...... Keep up the great work MSC, just try and try too improve the food and entertainment!! Happy Sailing!
