Our cabin was as we expected having sailed sister ship Eclipse. The only difference was that we were one deck higher and toward the stern vs. forward. We decided we prefer to be closer to the bow, as our Equinox cabin looked down on the lighted lifeboat deck. Our cabin steward was not as efficient as on the Eclipse in that our room wasn't made up while we were at breakfast, but that's a very minor point.
We had early seating in the MDR and can't rave enough about Halan and her assistant Volkan!! Every meal was delicious and Halan often brought out extras for us to enjoy. Once I tasted the escargot I had to order them nightly.
We enjoyed the entertainment, especially the female impressionist who gave us Cher, Streisand, Celine + many more.
The kitchen tour was a nice treat, although this is where the "appalling pax" part of my review comes in. During the Q&A with Chef Uhle, one woman used the forum to whine about the quality of the meat & fish (based on our meals, she was waay off base) and doing this in a public forum was so rude. At the end of our kitchen tour, a man complained that it was a total waste of his time because he was in the back of the group and couldn't hear a thing. He then found the chef, issued the same complaints and from there found Que, our cruise director, to lambast.
We did two Celeb excursions which were well-planned. The Tulum ruins and BeachBreak out of Cozumel and Xunantunich out of Belize. We had private tours in Costa Rica and Panama and did Cartagena and Grand Cayman on our own.
Loved the Solarium on port days. The mini-sandwiches and desserts at Cafe Al Bacio (no charge) were a great find and quite yummy! Never had a problem finding seating in the theatre, Oceanview Cafe and around the pools.
