The Carnival Destiny is in dire need of some updates. Although the colors are not as harsh as some of the other ships the bathrooms in the staterooms particularly the inside staterooms were atrocious. The bathrooms had a dirty appearance even when they were cleaned with bleach; after years of wear and tear some stains and deterioration cannot be fixed by cleaning alone. I found that the water pressure in the bathroom was very poor, even compared to other ships. Our shower on this ship was little more than a rainy drizzle.
Our room also had an issue with the Air conditioner in that the room was warm and we had to get maintenance to clean the filter which did improve the issue some. The ship was very hot for the first day and a half. The elevators and hallways were humid like the AC was turned off, but this did improve later on in the cruise.
The comedy show was great. Carl Strong who is a very experienced comedian did a show which left us laughing into the night; however they had the show in the smaller lounge instead of the theatre so there was a long line to get in and out and it was difficult to find seats. This problem was actually acknowledged by the cruise director Noonan and the solution was to have each comedian do two shows to give everyone a chance to see it, however this plan wasn't successful and seating and lines were horrible. After all the complaints about this they should actually address these issues by changing the venue. If you want to get seats for the comedy shows you have to line up early.
