just back from 18 smashing days on the independence of the seas sailing the western med. this is our 2nd time aboard, the first being 2008 when she was new.i just wonder if she,s already getting a bit tired and needs a tonic.

embarkation .as always with RC,was first class. on board by 11.30 and taking refreshments in the windjammer.as we had been on her before no need to chase around looking for things.in the cabin by about 1.30 and unpacked by 4pm.ready to cruise.i thought the lifeboat drill was very matter of fact and certainly not up to standard.no instructions ,in fact i,m not sure the crew knew what to do.

the food.overall, was very good.well cooked and to my liking. i especially liked the variety of soups on offer each day.plenty of dishes in the windjammer and first class service in the king Lear restaurant when we used it. the waiters always very attentive and very helpful.(i got my prawn cocktail even when not on the menu)
