Marco Polo Cruise Review by tactic: What a joke

What a joke
Destination: Europe - British Isles & Western
Having cruised lots I am not too sure how this ship can be classed as a cruise ship. It is an absolute joke. Food is appalling, entertainment is like a bad school production, ship is dirty, smells of diesel everywhere, public areas are either very warm or freezing cold, bedding is old and bobbly, crew are rude etc....
Advertised a captains cocktail party - never saw Captain or indeed any senior officers the whole time on board.
Most passengers were elderly and moany. Embarkation and disembarkation was an absolute farce In Antwerp to get back on board the climb up the stairs (might as well of been a ladder) was at a 60 degree angle - felt sorry for the guy in the wheelchair - he was told wait for the tide to turn!!! Hope it was tongue in cheek!
The lift doors attempt to sever limbs, health and safety was non existing! And the emergency drill was a fiasco.
The best thing this company can do is take a cruise with RCCL or one of the other competitors More and find out how to do things with professionalism.
Cross channel ferry services are better than this! For the people who have told me the Marco Polo is marvellous, well all I can say is they are easy pleased!
Its not cheap and there are a lot better options available.
Had to wait an eternity for people to settle their on board accounts before we were allowed off, get a grip- pre Christmas break..... no it was an endurance test and something we will definitely avoid at all costs! if it had been longer I would have packed up and flown home
Overall would have been 0 but as 1 is the least so be it - guess they get a 1 overall for getting me home to the comfort of Terra firma without a broken bone! Less
