People have different personalities. So do cruise lines. Norwegian Cruise lines offer a almost unique style with emphasizes free movement and minimal regimentation.
This ship (the Star), never felt crowded as some ships tend to do. The flow of guests is dispersed mainly by the 10 dining rooms being in different parts of the ship.I have been on cruises where I could barely walk without being trampled. Not this one. The ships design is so good, that you feel the ship is only half full.
Embarkation was the only time I spent in a line. There was no line to tender, no line to disembark, and no line for dinner.
11516 was on the low end of the 107 mini-suites on this ship. It was larger than a room with a balcony, although it did have a wide balcony. The bath was large, with a separate compartment for the toilet. The shower and bath were a combo unit, with an excellent size tub. Plenty of space for toiletries.
The bed areas and sitting area was divided by a heavy drape. Beds were very comfortable with excellent linen. Plenty of cabinets and racks for clothes.
The sitting area had a large movable table for eating breakfast in the room. This is a luxury. TV was small and tube model (I didn't think they still made them). Fully stocked frig with extra space for things you might bring back from the dining rooms.
Carpets clean and fresh, the room seemed to bet dusty very fast and the steward has a small bit of trouble keeping up with it.
Decor was nautical wood paneling and art. Good lighting, 2 110 v sockets, working hair dryer, provided bath robes, and large deck chairs and table.
We like this room a lot. Some of the higher level mini-suites come with a Butler, but I actually was glad mine did not, I don't need a four o'clock appetizer!!.
