My DH and I just got back from the best vacation of our lives! We spent an incredible 14 night on the beautiful Nieuw Amsterdam. I just can't say enough about this wonderful ship and her fantastic crew!

We arranged everything through the Holland America website and were very pleased with the customer service from the cruise line.

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday 3 December (the day before the cruise). We stayed in the Westin Hotel. Its about 15 miles away from the Port. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The only drawback was that for the price of the room, I was surprised that HAL didn't negotiate a free breakfast for all their cruisers. Read more
