Sail Date: Dec 2011
Cabin: Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

This cruise included myself, my wife, my brother and his wife (which are diamond cruisers). We requested and got adjoining balcony staterooms. Mariner of the Seas is a beautiful ship. The stateroom was very nice. The cabin attendant "Michael" was excellent and met all our requests except one. We asked to have the door separating our rooms to be unlocked and it was done. We then asked if we could have our balcony door unlocked (more than once) and it was not done even though we saw other balcony doors had been opened. Bummer.

The dining room waitstaff were excellent. But the food was not up to par compared to previous cruises we've been on with RCI. I understand that each head chef has his own idea of how a particular meal should be cooked. But soggy fish and tasteless key lime pie are not going to garnish points from me. The other three with me also said the same about some of the dishes they had ordered. Also on this trip, steak dinners were not on the regular menu. You had to pay extra, which we have not had to do in the past.

The food in the Windjammer was as expected. Good and plentiful with a full array to choose from.
