I thought the Legend would be less than expected, because it was a smaller and older ship than those on which I was used to cruising. My expectations were trumped!! The Legend is elegant and comfortable with all of the amenities one could desire, at least in the opinion of this country girl.
I accompanied two first-time-cruising girl friends. They were absolutely delighted. Everything went perfectly. The food was great, except for the rock lobster. The shows were Vegas class. We dined with a wonderful family from Canada and Nova Scotia. Met some real nice people from Washington too.....Jeff.
The excursions were great!
Room 4151 on the Legend suited us quite nicely. It was an obstructed ocean view, but there was actually a balcony-type door that opened, with a 3 foot lucite wall made to keep the passenger inside the cabin, but over that was a cat-walk and a life boat. We could still hang out wet bathing suits outside for easy drying. We did not have to pay for a balcony, but could see a strip of the ocean, and smell the air, and dry our clothes. We loved it. There were two twin-sized beds and the couch made into a comfy bed, and there was a pull-down bunk above the couch, so that four people could occupy the room. There was ample closet room for three people, and the bathroom was standard. My friend uses insulin and the steward very kindly provided her with a fresh bucket of ice for her insulin inside the fridge each day. Good man Roger!!
