We had a wonderful time on the Zuiderdam. We had no trouble at all getting checked in and were pleasingly surprised when we were allowed to drop our luggage into our cabin upon arrival. Also we were able to have a nice relaxing sit down lunch where we shared the company of 4 other cruisers who we found so much in common and made plans to get together later. We attended the lifeboat drill which was mandatory but found it odd that they did not take our attendance. Immediately following we had our Cruise Critic Sail Away party hosted by Bruce, our Meet and Greet planner. As promised Bruce honored our participation in our Roll Call's thread by treating us to a sail away cocktail of our choice for entering the 500th and 1000th post. The first evening we had the pleasure of meeting our Cruise Director, Jason. He was excellent, and we looked forward to every time Jason was on stage. This young man is destined for great things. He is so polished and quick witted, I think he has a future as a late night talk show host. He reminds me of a young Johnny Carson. The cruise staff, dancers, singers, magicians, comedians and musicians were all amazing and we looked forward to every performance.

The cruise staff kept us busy every sea day and if you would rather relax you could. The computer lectures were well done and Molly, although it was only her second time teaching the Windows 7 classes, did a fabulous job and was able to open the minds of all who attended to how easy this technology was.

The trivia that was held 2 or 3 times a day by Jason and his cruise staff were fun and we looked forward to seeing the answers to the daily quiz that Casey, the librarian, posted every day. Casey did a great job. We learned a lot. Jason was an excellent dance instructor. He has such a great personality and is a real people person. One of the cruiser's who was obviously challenged was placed in the spotlight more than once by Jason, and through his words this lovely lady was made to feel extra special. She really enjoyed her cruise. Jason has a natural wit and I know one day he will have his own talk show on TV.

Cabin J

We had a very spacious inside cabin. When the seas were rough the walls creaked and kept me awake.
