We arrived in Ft Lauderdale 11/25, a 10 minute ride to the Hilton Marina just a 9 iron from the port, very convenient place to stay with the port so close and the water taxi stop at the hotel. We checked in at 2pm and we were shocked that we were the only 4 people in the lobby with 8 ships in port the next day. We were in our rooms in 5 minutes and on the water taxi 20 minutes after that, on our way to Las Olas Blvd. (I had no idea at that point or any other point that I would be inspired to write a review on this trip so I didn't note names of places) we shopped and then had dinner at one of the restaurants on the blvd. a few drinks back on the water taxi to the Hilton. Perfect!
We arrived at the ship about 9:45, we wanted to be early to sign up for the sanctuary good thing we did. When we boarded the ship we weren't at the counter for 45 seconds and away we went. We booked our sanctuary for the week went to our rooms our cabin steward was there very nice fellow he asked us to just put the service please sign on our door when we were out and we did and our cabin was tidy every time we came back to our room. Perfect!
I have never been fond of the food on the cruise ships main dining rooms so we made reservations at Sabatini's and Crown grill Tuesday -â€"Friday and we scheduled the ultimate balcony dinning deal they have for Monday night. On Saturday night we went to the dining room it was terrific, I mean really good (we live in Chicago which makes you a natural food snob) and so we did it again on Sunday once again terrific, wow. On Monday we had the balcony dinner surf and turf , words could not describe, off the charts good. Monday we did do the Crown Grill and once again a home run. After that we canceled our specialty reservations and had dinner in the dining room every meal was great. Perfect!
quiet location, covered balcony
