Great family vacation!

Sail Date: November 2011
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

After reading so many reviews leading up to our cruise, November 26th sailing, I thought it was only appropriate to leave a review. No hotel, we live close to the port. Boarding was smooth, the guys taking the security pictures were a little pushy with the kids. We were in the cabin at 1:30pm.

Our cabin on the Lido deck was surprisingly quiet, compared to other cruises. The interior cabin was small, I think as the kids get bigger the interior gets smaller! It was nice to have quick access to the pools and The Gathering. We enjoyed watching the movies at night on the Lido...pack warm clothes as it gets chilly in the evenings.

We ate "your time dining" and managed to eat the dining room 5 nights. No lines and service was good. The food was ok...but who goes on a cruise for the food! We tried the dining room for lunch during one of the sea days, not impressed; we waited forever for our food, it was cold. All other meals we had were in The Gathering. Lines were not too More bad. The pasta bar, wok, and omelette station were our favorites.

The kids did Camp Carnival a couple of hours during the sea days and seemed to enjoy it. The water slides were a big hit with the kids. We all enjoyed the Comedy Club and the one show (8 Seconds) that we saw.

I loved the ports, see port reviews.

I was shocked to see so many pushy, complaining ADULTS on board; kids were better behaved! A cruise ship with 4000+ people is not a 5 star resort people!

Overall a great cruise and can't wait to cruise the Dream again. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Dream Interior Lido

Great location! Very quiet, most nights didn't hear anything at all.

Easy taxi ride. Weather wasn't the greatest, but made the most out of our day at Nachi Cocum. Nice place, good food, kids entertained themselves...will go back again.

Very easy to get off the ship, we had tender ticket number 1. Not much to do at this port unless you have an excursion booked. The family did cave tubing with .BZ...highly recommend them. This was the highlight of our cruise. The views from the hike and in the caves were breathtaking. The tour guides were very informative about everything from their country to the kinds of plants/trees we saw on the hike. The even carried our kids tubs on the hike. We had plenty of time to spare before the last tender and felt safe the entire time.

Just ok port. It was very crowded, same shops you see everywhere else. We didn't book an excursion here, just decided to walk around. There is a pool with a swim up bar by Fat Tuesdays.

Beautiful island. Would love to go back on a warmer day. This is another port that you would probably want to book an excursion. The shopping is nice here. Booked Tabyana Beach through Carnival. Nice beach, food and drinks seemed pricey..drivers were not the most friendly. Was a long bus ride through narrow, hilly roads. We would book a different excursion next time, not through Carnival.
