Ship Facts: Carnival Dream Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Dream Deck Plans
A big family vacation
We went on this cruise with our 4 kids, my parents, my brother and 2 nephews. We drove to the port and parked at the park and cruise. we booked the parking online, it was $7.00 a day. we parked and were dropped off at the terminal in less than 30 min. We didnt get to the terminal until 2pm, so it was not overyly crowded and did not take too long to get on the ship. we packed swim suits in our carryon bag so we could go right to the pool/hot tubs. it was just before 6pm that our luggage made it to the room.

We had the early seating in the Crimson dining room. the food was fine. no compliants. the kids enjoyed trying new dishes. I thought that the prime rib was the best thing i ate all week. we had it twice during the week. family said the lobster was good, but i don't eat seafood. the best dessert of the week was sugar free apple pie!

The waters were very rough the first three days of the trip! lots of people complained about the rough seas. 3 or the 6 kids in our group were sea sick. take dramamine with you! better yet, if you can get a RX for Zophran, get one!

our 1st stop was Nassau. we were only there until 2, so....not a lot of time. we did not book our parasailing trip with the ship because it was sold out. so we went to the tour desk on the island and told the lady we wanted to parasail. she had someone there in 15 mins. it was $70/pp for 10min ride. the ship was charging $90.pp. found out later that the ship tour was cancelled for rough seas, we had a great time. the seas were rough but the guy that took us to another spot and it was nice and calm.

day at sea. we took cards. found a spot near the buffett around 11 and played cards, ate lunch. the buffet lines grows just before noon. and then there are no seats to be found. never bothered with getting a deck chair by the pool. too crowded. we ended up going to the back of the ship around 3. not crowded and we played unitl it was time to get ready for dinner.

St Thomas. we took a cab to Bolango Bay. it was only 10-15 min from the ship. they guy charged us $9.00 a person for the ride. The beach was free, there is a resort there. we rented paddle boat and jetski. we were the only ones there other that the ppl at the resort :) I heard later the Meagans bay was really crowded...there were 5 ships in port that day. Balongo Bay is a bit rocky, but the kids had a good time and it was nice to be away from the crowds.

St.Marteen. we booked a trip with the ship. what a waste of $$$. we did the ship wreck cove snorkel. we literally took a 15 min ride on a catameran and snorkeled for 45 min. then a 15 min ride to the beach that was right in front of the ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this was advertised as a 5 hour excursion. we were gone for less than 2 hours. we had a great time at the beach. rented jetski again. rented 2 chairs and umbrella for 15.00 for the day. got buckets of beer for $10.00 (5 beers) and my daughter got her hair braided. next time we will get a cab and go on our own, or just hang out at this beach. the kids were concerned that we would end up on a nude beach (they are 11) so it was good that we just stayed where we were.

last 2 days at sea.....family time

did not go to any shows other thant he comedy shows. they were funny. kids liked the family friendly ones too.

kids spent a little time in camp carnival...

older 2 spend time in the 15-17 club. never saw them other than at dinner. they had fun too.

ship was nice. as always,,,noisey! ppl yell in the hall no matter what time. kids running around in open spaces.

kids said Laser show stunk.
