First off we were told we could board the ship at 1:30 and get in our room at that time. That would've been great but instead we were told due to the boat getting back late they would not start boarding until 4pm. So we had to stand at the parking garage and wait til 4 when they started to pick us up to take us to the terminal.our ship was supposed to leave at 4, but we didn't leave until 6.We got to do VIP check in since we had a suite. That saved us a long wait in line which was nice.
Our room was spacious but what they claimed was a partially obstructed view was a lie.We had 2 lifeboats in front of the balcony. The only view was what you could see between the boats. There is also only one outlet in the room.So you can't have your curling iron heating while you use the blow dryer. One thing at a time. Also,in this cabin there is something above it that rolls back and forth and bangs. When we met our room steward she seemed nice.
On the second day of the cruise they charge you for the tips for the staff. Since I work in the service industry I feel that you need to earn your tips, they should not be given before you get the service. So my husband went to have them removed. He was informed by the clerk at guest services that " They will know what you did." Meaning she was going to inform them that we removed the tips.To our surprise she also helped our room steward clean the rooms. So she let her know we took her tip off.I had all intentions of giving her a tip at the end if she provided good service. But she didn't. She didn't clean the sink or toilet, never replaced the soap, and didn't run the sweeper. On our last night she never gave us any service. The sink was clogged and we had one towel left. Horrible service.
The people in the casino are so rude. They don't smile at all. They all acted like they hated their job.Unless you were giving someone on this boat a tip they acted like they hated the world.
The dining room food was mediocre at best. The food was very bland no flavor. It was usually luke warm when you got it.The sandwiches at the deli are good. The room service food was good too.
The pool and hot tub situation was horrible. There are only 2 jacuzzis that kids can go in and they were always full of drunks. We actually watched 2 girls yell to their husbands to come take their spot in the jacuzzi while they went to get something to eat.Bunch of low class losers.
Our first excursion in Freeport was cancelled due to wind. We did the submarine excursion in Nassau which was really nice. In Key west we had an excursion @ 8:30 at 8 they announced that everyone had to report to the 9th deck with birth certificates and ID before you could get off the boat. Then we were told by 2 Carnival workers that if you were American you didn't have to go. So we go to get off the boat and they tell us we have to go back up and get checked with the border patrol on the 9th deck. Fortunately we didn't miss the excursion. But the run around was ridiculous.
This cruise is geared for people with very low expectations. The boat is far too small for the amount of people they put on it. You will not be pampered on this cruise. We talked with other passengers that agreed that they felt they were being treated like crap for the amount of money they paid. Also be prepared to be seasick, this boat rocks like crazy day and night.
