Ship Facts: Norwegian Star Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Star Deck Plans
The Star IS a Star
In a nutshell, there are FEW things NCL could improve for the value, price, and overall experience. I'll be the first to write a bad review of a bad experience but also dont nitpick to find something wrong just to make myself feel superior. Thats all i could think of when i read some of the complaint on this cruise. Rolls not hot out of the oven?? Gimme a break! This cruise met and exceeded expectations at every turn. The one thing that stood out as less than satisfying were a good number of the desserts and the ny strip at dinner. Othher than that, food was very good. You are not paying for 5 star dining nor should you set the expectations so high that virtually no one could meet. The food is better than most better chain restaurants in the US. It is as good or better than most all inclusives in the islands. If you cant find something from the 6 standard "all week" entrees AND the 6 daily entrees plus one chef's special in the main dining room, you need therapy. The buffets are fantastic and the variety great. Only ate at one pay venue " cagneys" and it was great.

I brought my two 13 yr old girls and 10 yr old son. Teen center was fantastic and my son played alot of basketball and swam. No complaints from them. They were already planning next cruise prior to the end of this one.

Embarkation problems solved at Tampa. We arrived at 11:00 am and were on the ship by 11:20.

Ports were great. Ship looks very good. Remember that 175,000 people annually are on it and there are no nonsailing days for repairs. It is 10 yrs old but is not looking dated.

Serviceis great. Remember many staff dont speak perfect english so they may not understand a request. They are not ignoring you!
