Great first cruise on the Carnival Pride.

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

To tell you a bit about ourselves first, this was my first cruise (definately not my last), we were a group of 12 family members, including children. We flew into Baltimore from Buffalo the day before our cruise.
The day of the cruise we arrived at the port around 2 pm. The boarding process was very quick and easy. Once onboard we were greeted with friendly staff ready and waiting to answer any questions. We were able to go to our stateroom right away. We were on deck 8 with an extended balcony. The only downfall to deck 8 is the pool deck is above that, so we heard the lounge chairs being moved around and music. But it wasn't too bad.
We saw our stewards in the hallway and they said hello to us using our names! I thought that was really nice and personal, they were always friendly. They were very good at there job. Our room was always clean and well stocked. The kids loved the towel art and chocolates left on the beds each evening. Our luggage arrived to our More stateroom shortly after we arrived in the room.
We had anytime dining which worked good for us. I found we were just so relaxed and having a great time that we were in no hurry to rush off to get ready to eat dinner at a normal dinner hour. It also works out good when you're off the ship doing an excursion for the day. The food was very good, we never went hungry! We actually gained weight from that cruise lol! The good thing is that you can have as many servings as you want even in the main dining room. We ate at David's Steakhouse 1 night it was delish and very filling!
We didn't check out any evening shows, I would have liked to though. We went to a funny marriage trivia game-show during the daytime that was funny. We liked the casino, we didn't win anything much. The kids enjoyed the Camp Carnival, they still talk about it, they met lots of new friends. They were seperated into different age groups, there was lots of scheduled fun games and activities for them. We did sign them up 1 night for the Night Owls and they had a good time and we were able to have a nice dinner at David's Steakhouse just us adults. We enjoyed the pools and hot tubs. The kids loved the waterslide. We were able to watch a beautiful sunset 1 evening in the Serenity Lounge which was very relaxing and beautiful.
The excursions we did were: Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom, The Atlantis Resort, and the Unexso Dolphin Experience. They were all terrific excursions, the weather was awesome and the kids had an fantastic time. We had such a good time, I wish we could have spent days at each one, it's never long enough! We loved Disney and 1 day is not enough to see it all. We loved the Bahamas, the beach was amazing! A couple of tips for you: you will need your photo i.d. and your sail and sign card for going on and off the ship at each port. Also, the Atlantis Resort does not accept cash, you will need to bring a credit card, and everything is very over-priced.
The morning we had to leave the ship, after our deck was called it was quite a quick process to dis-embark. Overall it was a great vacation and I would recommend it to others. I actually wish we had purchased a future cruise coupon before departing the ship! We are already looking into another cruise! Less

Cabin review: Carnival Pride Balcony Upper

We had an extended balcony on deck 8. Good view, enjoyed the balcony, good storage space, liked the t.v. and mini-fridge. Cabins need more electrical outlets, the pool deck is above the stateroom, heard lounge chairs being moved around and loud music.
