Ship Facts: Carnival Pride Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Pride Deck Plans
Got back from the shortened 11/6/11 trip to Bermuda on the Carnival Pride. I took a while to write about because I had such mixed feelings about the ship and the whole vacation.

First up, we left from Baltimore. We were called Saturday night and told the sailing would be delayed on Sunday. Then we received an e-mail later Saturday night saying we would leave on Monday morning. After contacting our travel agent we found out Carnival has the right to change up to 24 hours of our vaction and we couldn't cancel. This was upsetting because we knew we would lose the whole day in Bermuda. The reason we went on the Pride was the good itinerary for Bermuda. Royal Carribean's Enchantment also goes to Bermuda but she has the shortened time in port that we ended up with.

Embarkation on Monday was smooth. We were allowed into our cabin as soon as we came on board. Food was available. The cabin, a balcony, was a very nice size and was well taken care of. The ship itself is different from the three others we have been on. It is darker and smaller but we liked the interior design except for the murals on the elevators and in the cabin halls. Nothing terrible just not very attractive.

We were waitlisted for the early dining but the dine when you want option is available if you ask. We did and were able to easily get seated around 6. There were many two person tables available. If you wanted a booth you were asked if you were willing to share. That's a nice way to meet another couple.

The food in the dining room was very poor the first two nights. We were really surprised the quality was worse than the buffet. Quality was much better the last two nights we dined there but no variey of bread at dinner just seemed cheap. Table service was good except for the first night.

Activities on the ship were very low quality. The entertainment was about average. We enjoyed a couple of the comedians and the piano sing a long.

The Pride has a covered pool area which was nice and even usable when the weather was sunny and about 70 outside. The whirlpools were crowded and the slide was not open for use. The water in the adult pool didn't seem to be heated so that wasn't usable. That's a real shame because the Serendity area is nice.

This is the fourth cruise line we've tried and it was the worse. There were good points such as the cabin size, good service, and a good buffet but when they took away over a day from our time in port the poor qualities of the cruise became more apparant. Cheap and infrequent activities, no enrichment, poor dining, mishandled disembarking in Bermuda, and lack of concern for our ruined vacation colored the whole trip.

The end result is we were cheated out of our vacation. Despite many positives Carnival just didn't make the loss of a whole day in Bermuda right.
