The Dream is a beautiful ship, but there were some disappointments. It has a very small Atrium compared to the other ships we have sailed on. The grand stair case was not so grand. We also did not like the fact of the two dining rooms and where they were located. The bigger dining rooms on other ships we have sailed on seemed more grander and not like you were in a local restaurant. Also, we had selected the late dining this time, because we were traveling with another couple and no kids for the first time in 27 years so we thought going later would give us more time after our excursions to get ready and not feel rushed.
Well it ended up the first two nights that our food was cold. The butter would not even melt on our baked potatoes. We contacted the Matre'd and asked to be moved to the anytime dining but did not even hear back from him until 5:45 on Thursday evening. He declined our offer for the anytime dining but said we could go to the early dining. Well needless to say we did not have time to get ready for the early seating since it started at 6:15. So it was too little too late. I would not recommend the late dining, but do not know if the food was the same for the earlier dining. The food at the buffet was good, also not very hot , but hotter then in the dining room.
The shows were very good and also so were the comedians. We really enjoyed them. We also loved all of the hot tubs all over the ship. The pools are quite small for the size of the ship. Also I wish that on the Serenity deck they had included a pool for adults only, as both the pools were always filled with so many children you couldn't enjoy them.
This ship also seemed to rock a lot. We had our port day in Roatan cancelled and could not understand why. They said it was because of the winds, but we have sailed before on much worse days and it seemed pretty mild that day. It always felt like we were swaying back and forth all the time. On other ships we had to actually try and see if we could feel any movement, but on this ship we felt it all the time. I am not sure if it is because it is so high up and the wind just makes it sway more. So if you have tendency to get sea sick this might not be the best ship to sail on.
Our room steward was great and very friendly. Our room was always cleaned right away. We also met a couple of waiters on deck 5 on the the Lanai. Joe Joe and Antonio. They helped to make our cruise better. Good luck to both of you.
We loved our ports of call and would choose to go back to everyone of them again.
We would not sail again on this ship. We will go back to a smaller ship where it seemed more personalized.
