Ship Facts: Celebrity Silhouette Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Silhouette Deck Plans
Silhouette Caribbean Debut
Embarkation-Arrived at port at about 11AM and checked in and waited about 30 minutes to board the bus that brings you to the ship. We were on the ship a little after noon and welcomed with a glass of champagne. We were having lunch in the buffet by 12:30. After lunch we toured the ship and within an hour or so were in our cabin unpacking.

Ship- We found the ship to be very nice with elegant decor and stylish design. Somewhat modern in some. The ship never felt crowded except for the Silhouette theatre which was crowded at the early shows but not the later show. The pool area was nice and never had a problem finding a lounge chair. Pools kept clean and plenty of towels. You could find a quite spot to relax and read.

The Captain, Nicholas Pagonis was very welcoming and made a point to be seen about the ship. His daily announcements were informational. He did his best to keep everyone informed when we hit some rough seas. He was outgoing and friendly. On the night you could have your photo taken with him he offered his arm to my wife and shook my hand and we exchanged greetings. He really made us feel like we were his guests on his ship.

We were surprised by the large amount of seniors on this cruise and few children. Everyone was well behaved and seemed to be enjoying the cruise.

Cabin- We found our veranda cabin to be very nice and comfortable. There was plenty of storage space. The over bed storage was good but a little hard to reach. The interactive Apple entertainment system on the TV is the best I have seen. Even your ship photos are available.

The bathroom was large with a nice sized shower and plenty of storage space. It also has a nice night light which is nice late at night. The only issue was the location of the faucet to the sink. It is too far away and made hand washing difficult. If you did not turn the water on full it would run on the counter. The cabin stewards did a good job keeping the room clean. Nice veranda.

Dining-Found the food to be very good in the buffet and main dining room. The food was prepared well and we found the meats to be very good. The fish was okay. Good presentation. The desserts were excellent. Our head waiter Eudel was terrific as was his assistant Odis. Odis was always smiling. The wine steward Elrich never let my wine glass go empty. Only disappointment was no lobster night. The only other issue was we had confirmed early seating and when we arrived we were told we had late seating. Even our cabin steward had us at early seating. We waited an hour to see if we could be switched to no avail. It was not until we ran into another couple we dined with at the late seating who had gone to customer relations and had been switched to early seating that we took the same course of action and the next day the dining room manager called and switched us as they had a early seated couple who switched their table and they offered us their spot. We enjoyed the early seating for the rest of the cruise. One small issue though was the dining room was a bit dark and the tables were close together and made it tough to get in and out.

We did not try the Murano, Tuscan Grill or Qsine. I felt it was too pricey and the food in MDR was fine.

Entertainment-We found the entertainment to be good. The house band was one of the best I have heard. They could headline their own show. The jazz group on the Lawn Club at night was cool. Laying on the grass at sea and listening to music. Very relaxing. It was also very nice to sit around the Lawn Club in the evenings after dinner.

We found the rest of the ship to be very comfortable, especially the furniture.

The crew were friendly and accommodating. During the rough seas we did notice the ship did creak a lot making it difficult to sleep. I guess being a new ship had to do with it but we are on a moving ship and it is to be expected in those situations.

Our ports of call were all nice and enjoyed our excursions in St. Lucia and Antigua. The St. Lucia excursion was snorkeling beneath the Pitons. Antigua was swimming with the stingrays. Very cool. The only thing was they described it as a short boat ride when in fact it was about a 30 minute ride to the boat. But we were impressed once we got there.

Disembarkation-We were early group and off the ship at 8:20, found our luggage with ease and through Customs by 8:35. No problems at all.

In summation I would recommend this cruise highly and look forward to sailing again with Celebrity.
