We departed Palm Beach on Nov 9, ariving at the port about 1:00. The check in process was very organized and easy. On board was an ondeck buffet. The buffet offered limited items but was enjoyable.
We were immediately confronted with people asking for us to buy drinks, and bottles of liquor, which we are not big drinkers, so we passed on the offers.
Our cabin was ready upon arrival. It was a good size with large port window. Plenty of room for 2 and had 2 additional fold down cots for additional guests. Staff was very helpful and always willing to offer assistance. We never had to ask twice for anything.
Our cruise included an upgrade to the Cove restaurant. The Cove is a very small intimate dining experience with amazing staff. My wife an I really enjoyed the dining experience. Food was exceptionally good, and service was perfect.
So far we are incredibly surprised at the level of service and food offered.
We attended an evening show with a few acts. Typical cruise ship entertainment, but enjoyable.
Oh, forgot to mention going over we were at the tail end of a storm North of the Bahamas that caused 6'-10' swells. We took "Bonine" foe sea sickness and it worked great. Although other guests were not doing so well. Walking around felt like you were drunk.
We arrived in Grand Bahama early and disembarked. The process was very orderly and we were transported to the Grand Lucayan Resort in short order. I have toe say the Grand Lucayan was amazing!!!! beautiful resort. Everything was beautiful, service was first class, and not one complaint. Highly recommended.
We stayed 2 days on the Island, and returned to the ship on Sat afternoon. The only complaint was having to return to the ship at 12:15 in the afternoon. By the time we got back to the ship is was after 1:00 and nothing to do. We decided to take a cab to the International Bazar. BAD IDEA!!! the place is a ghost town, no shops open, and nothing to eat.
We returned to the ship at 3:30 and remained on-board. Had a good dinner Rio's. The Beef Wellington was great.
Forgot to mention breakfasts. All good buffet's. Typical buffet food. Service was good.
The Entertainment on Sat evening was better than when we left. Excellent comedian.
Overall we had a really great time, much better than expected. Everything was perfect, and I can't think of one complaint other than being harassed for drinks.
I highly recommend the Grand Lucayan, and Bahama Celebration.
