Traveled with children

This was our 1st cruise for our 15th wedding anniversary . We took the 4 children which were 14, 10, 10 and 8. I didn't do much the 1st 5 days as we hit a winter storm over the bay of bis quay. 110km/h winds the boat swayed from side to side as our room was at the front every time the boat dipped the wardrobes swung open then slammed shut it was awful. I had seasickness for 4 days slept most of the time , couldn't eat . When we did manage to eat the food was fabulous and plentiful. No shortage of food - be prepared to put on a stone. theirs pizza and sandwiches to snack on, buffet breakfast or ala carte and the main dining was excellent and the waiters are great. I quite enjoyed getting dressed up for the formal evenings and found most people did the same,

Apart from the kids club which is open up to 10pm at night their wasn't much for the kids to do . The weather only got sunny at gran canaria so couldn't really use the pool.Open decks were closed for 2 days due to the weather, have to be 16 to use the gym. My kids don't like the kids club but very good if they like that sort of thing. no kids discos in the evening after the shows we found there was no were to go with them and ended up in bed at 10pm. the family discos were aimed at 3-7 age group to young for my lot.

The shops were disappointing . We bought a watch for our 8 year old and she only had it a day went in the pool with it and it broke. Asked in the evening they said to come in the morning to exchange it. In the morning They would not exchange it and said they weren't waterproof ,our 8 year old was HEARTBROKEN as she spent her money on it. This put me off spending on the boat if they cant exchange a 10 dollar watch. All they want is money , money money similarly once the tips were given out we didn't see the room attendant and he didn't make us an animal on the last evening kids disappointed again.
