My DH and I booked this as a quick get away from Jacksonville. We decided to have our grandaughter drop us off at the port since we are only 40 minutes from the port. We received a call from Carnival the night before informing us that embarkation would be delayed until 2 pm because the ship would not clear the Dames Point bridge on time. we heeded this warning and did not show up till 2. When we arrived we were told there would be a further delay until 3:30, and were directed to parking lot 4. We sat there till 5pm and were told we could head to the drop off point. Once we got out of the car we got in line to board. One hour later, after traveling through this sepentine line we were finally on the ship.

We went straight to our cabin, and it was the first time our luggage was in the room when we got there. We weren't going to let this put a damper on the rest of the cruise. The ship was well maintained and kept clean. Our room was the same. Cabin steward Christopher did a great job.The food was just okay. Many items in the diningroom were bland and had no flavor. The prime rib was good.My husbands favorite appitizer escargo was horrible, very dry and extremely overcooked. So was the Mahi Mahi. The fish and shrimp combo was good. Food at the buffet was nothing special. The deli was very good, pizza not as good as it used to be.The Mongolian stir fry must have been good, but the line was too long for us,as was the line for sushi on deck 9.The shows were entertaining. I did not care for Jen the cruise director.

Half Moon Cay was great as always,we did not get off the ship in Nassau, been there done that. Drinks average about 10$ with the 15% gratuity added. All in all we had fun. When you cruise for 5 days for less than 600$ for two you can't set your expectations too high. You still get what you pay for.
