Just returned from a wonderful time on the Oosterdam. This was my first cruise in over 35 years and we had a blast!! The ship was beautiful, so clean and well kept up. The crew was so nice, especially in the Vista -- Main Dining Room. The food was delicious in all the areas of the ship. We enjoyed the special dinner in "The Pinnacle" which was an extra $20.00 per person but worth every penny. The daily program had enough to keep any age entertained all day long. Bingo, trivia contests, exercise classes, ping pong tournaments, shuffleboard tournaments, bridge, cards, art sales, dancing, etc. Our only complaint would be the evening showtime. The cast tried hard but overall they were not great. I would consider them "typical cruise" entertainment.
We had three teenagers with our family and two 80+ year old women. Everyone had something to do all day long if they wanted to. We barely had time to rest and need a vacation from our vacation.
The ports of call were ok. Cabo San Lucas had so many people hawking their cheap wares, with small children trying to get you to buy their junk. We enjoyed Puerto Vallarta the best. What a beautiful town. Try the jungle zip lines. The allow you to fly like a bird over the top of the trees in the jungle. What a blast!!
