Ship Facts: Carnival Fantasy Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Fantasy Deck Plans
Carnival Fantasy Cruise over Halloween 2011
We drove to Charleston from Columbia, SC. Directions were good from I-26 to the port. We arrived at the entry/parking area about noon and were on the ship in about one hour. Parking is somewhat expensive at $15 per day. We booked directly with Carnival about 3 weeks before departure and got a really price for an interior cabin.

The weather for our 5 night cruise was not too good. The first 3 days were mostly cloudy and rain or drizzle.

Read port reviews section for our activities in Freeport and Nassau.

We felt all of the crew on the Fantasy were very nice and hard workers. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment, magic show, and dinner. We were on the cruise for Halloween. We did take costumes and had a great time. We and many others wore costumes to the formal dinner that night. We felt the food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. The ship appears to be very clean. We did have very dirty water coming out of the hot water spigot during our cruise each morning. I'd let it run for about 5-6 minutes and then it would be clear.

We did the self-assist disembarkation. The ship was about 30 minutes later into port than expected. Still we were off the ship and through customs in about one hour.

Highly recommended - a new relatively NEW tour is right onboard. Do it. It is the "Behind the Fun" tour. Book first day or early next morning before orientation meeting. Only two groups of 16 go on this tour for $55. You get to go places normally not possible and learn to further appreciate the work and planning behind a cruise. Galley, crew mess area, bridge, engine control room, stage area and more are included on the tour.

My wife got seasick on our last full day at sea. Winds were about 34 knots and very choppy. I did not get sick, but, it was fairly rough with some noticeable swaying.

We had a great time! We will cruise again on the Fantasy again January 25, 2012.
