Carnival Freedom 8 day from Ft. Lauderdale

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Pre cruise...........Stayed at the Rodeway Inn and Suites. While it was not fancy it worked well for one night.

Embark...............This was the easiest and fastest embark ever. From the time we got out of the shuttle, to the time we got checked in 15 minutes. Then we had a about a 45 minute wait in the waiting room.

Ship............... The ship was clean and well maintained. Though it was a bit confusing finding our dining room. Once we learned our way around all was fine.

Itinerary.............We were suppose to go to Cozumel, Limon and Colon Panama. But due to the hurricane we went to Cozumel, Montego bay Jamaica and Grand Turk. Was not happy with the change in ports. But that is a chance you take when you book during hurricane season.

Excursion.......... Took the trolley tour in Grand Turk. It was a total waste of time and money. They pack you like sardines in a trolley train and you are almost sitting in the lap of the person facing you. Very More tight fit. Driver spoke to fast and drove even faster.

Food....... While we never went hungry, I have noticed a decrease in the quality of food. Husband thought the frog legs and alligator fritters were great. Disembark..........Was as easy as embark. Got off the ship at 6:55 am (we did self assist) went through customs and was back at the hotel by 7:10 am, on our way home by 7:15 am. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

Did not care for this port at all. There was not much shopping close to the port. We were told it was not safe to go out on our own. We couldn't find a excursion that interested us. Got sick from something that was being "smoked" in the shops. Third port was Grand Turk, trolley train tour as described above.
