Just returned from a 4 night cruise aboard Millennium. First of all we were supposed to do key west / cozumel. we ended up with key west and nassua due to hurricane rina. this in no way was celebritys fault but quite frankly had i known i was going to the bahamas i would have never booked. nassua quite frankly is the pits but just the same i suppose to avoid the weather its what had to be done. ill concentrate on the ship etc. since i did not like the ports but again that was in no way an issue for the cruise line it was weather.
EMBARCATION was easy. showed up about 1130 am on board within 30 minutes. champagne welcome was very nice. first impression of the ship was clean, low key sophistication.
ROOM was a 2B deluxe balcony room #9004. my one and only complaint about the entire cruise was the connecting door to the other room. may as well not even have been there. the couple next door were not at all respectful to there neighbors with loud noise and very loud tv. again compliments to the crew on this matter though. when we complained about the noise the room steward taped up the door and it was amazing the amount of noise this simple procedure cut out. kudos to the crew for this act. the room was clean , plenty of room, nice balcony. our balcony was under the overhang from deck 10 and it actually helped block some of the sun and rain and i had no issues with this location as far as noise. however on this deck further aft some rooms under the pool area and around the stairs i could see would have noise issues.
FOOD- no issues with the food. ate in the dining room on formal night and one other night. service was efficient and food was well prepared. we did the select dining and i enjoyed not having a schedule for eating in the dining room. just show up and we were seated immediately, never a wait. the food in the ocean cafe was fine. plenty of variety for a 4 day cruise. the fish and chips were a great touch. im not a foodie so i wont spend lots of time on the food itself other than to say it was plentiful and nothing i had was bad. we ordered room service coffee / breakfast every morning and it was always hot and right on time.
SPA-i actually won a spa treatment a mens haircut / facial and it was a great experience. Peter in the mens salon was great and he did a great job.
the thalassotherapy pool was one of the best features of the ship. its no extra charge and i highly suggest a soaking in this wonderful pool.
SHOWS-i was expecting shows along the caliber of a high school drama club. SURPRISE!! the shows were excellent. saw all the shows including the comedian and liked all three. no complaints at all.
also for those interested when we boarded i went to guest services and asked if there were any bridge tours offered. we were put on the "list" and went on a super secret bridge tour. very interesting and if you just ask then they seem more than happy to get you on the tour.
THE SHIP- clean, low key , understated. i did not notice anything about the ship that would have put me off. sure the ship has a few spots here and there that need repair but if you were at sea this long you would to. from what i saw nothing looked out of place or so torn and tattered that i even thought twice about it. i dont understand some of the other reviews talking about how bad a shape this ship is in... i didnt see that.
overall the cruise was great. my one and only complaint is the bahamas , what a dump nassua is but again that was not a celebrity issue. cant do anything about the weather.
