After reading tons of reviews on here, I was a bit concerned about sailing on the NCL Spirit. However, the Spirit far exceeded my expectations! Embarkation was typical...lines of excited people ready to get on the ship! From the first moment we stepped on the ship, we were greeted warmly & well taken care of. We especially appreciated that NCL never pushed alcohol, bingo, the casino, shopping, etc. While it was freely offered, we weren't constantly hounded. It was such a refreshing change from Carnival!
The Spirit is a beauty! Her decor is elegant and tasteful. I also found it to be soothing & interesting. The entire ship was immaculate, and there were people continuously keeping her clean & well maintained. I can't say enough about NCL's customer service on the Spirit. On Carnival we were expected to pick up after ourselves, carry our dirty dishes to a station in the dining room, etc. The crew on the Spirit waited on us hand & foot, always with a smile and pleasant attitude. In fact, the only garbage cans we saw were by the pool. This marvelous crew does everything to pamper you & make your trip everything you want it to be!
Raquel, the Spirit's group coordinator, arranged out Meet & Greet in Henry's Pub. They had set up a lovely continental brunch for us & welcomed us with a smile! A large contingency of the officers came to greet us & answered all of our questions. But the most wonderful part was meeting the people on our roll call that we had gotten to know on Cruise Critic. I can't describe how marvelous it was to put faces with the names and have this time set aside just for us! It was both fun & comforting to have some familiar faces on the ship! I urge everyone to attend the Meet & Greet on their cruise...you won't regret it!
Our cabin was quiet with ample storage room & a spacious bathroom. It was also very quiet and comfortable!
