Just off the Jewel

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

Just off the Jewel for our first time cruise traveling with 6 children ages 9-14. This was our first cruise and it was great. The biggest complaint I had was it took 2 and a half hours to stand in line at New York terminal to get on the ship. I was extremely cranky and so were the kids. Was not prepared for this. Got there by 1:00 and didnt get on the ship until almost 4. We were literally on the ship 5 minutes before it left. After that it was great.

Food was great. The shows were great. The kids clubs were awesome. They do such a nice job with the kids. Our kids wanted to spend all of there time there. the weather was very windy. Missed the Great Stirrup Cay do to the high winds. Florida was nice but windy. Nassau was good. Nine ships in port that day. Waiting for the elevators was crazy at best. Better to hike up the stairs on your own. Drinks were fabulous. Roel the bartender in the Tapas bar "ROCKS". Margarita tasting was a hoot. 32 oz. of drinks!!!!! The wings at the More Blue Lagoon were not all that great as everyone says they are. Sorry! Didnt do so well at the casino on the slots.

No room at the pool or deck chairs on the nice days. Sat up on deck 13. Less crowded up there. Watch out though there is a nudie sundeck up above!!!!!!
The room service was good. Overall we had a wonderful time. Came back to a snowstorm and spent the day after shoveling snow!!!! Less
