Awesome time with Carnival while aboard the Fascination!

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Jacksonville

From start to end I will tell you everything I've learned about cruising! If you are a laid back person and understand sometimes there will be mistakes and if your not picky then this review is for you! This was our first cruise and we had a Blast! We booked the cruise we went on 8 months in advance and saved a lot of money that way! We went and bought our passports and then waited about 2 months before cruise was to set sail to buy new clothes, luggage and whatever we thought we would need for the trip! This Cruise on the Fascination was for mine and my husbands 5 year Anniversary away without our kids, and we had the Best Most Relaxing Time of our Lives...Thanks to Carnival!

We set sail on Monday, October the 10Th. We were suppose to dock out at 4pm but due to the weather we had to wait until 11:30pm to leave Jacksonville. We were able to go straight to our cabins once on board. We had a room with port holes, just enough view for the time that we were in the rooms. More We were able to do anything on the ship while docked, we were already having fun and hadn't even let yet. So we had dinner in our Sensation Dining Area, they sang and danced around after we ate, and then we just walked and looked around at everything on the Ship and was wowed with everything! So after we left Jacksonville Dock and headed into the Sea, it was bed time.

The 2Nd day we had a sea day! It was fun day! Danced, Ate, Drank, took a nap in the adult section of the ship, Hit up the Hot Tub, and the Pool Area! Then supper time and this night was our Captain's Dinner so everyone was dressed up, it was nice to dress up and have fun! Had Tons and Tons of Pictures made!! Get ready for the Best Food of all times in the Dining Room!! We had something different every night to eat, awesome foods! Again Singing and Dancing in the Dining Area!!

The 3rd day we were docked at Key West from 7am until 3pm, we did our own things while in the Keys! We rented a Scooter (which I totally recommend to get around), we shopped, ate lunch at Sloppy Joe's Bar (live entertainment), went to the the southernmost point marker and went to to an Old Zachary Military Fort (a little fee) and then went and rented a Jet Ski and did the 2 hour guided tour around the whole Keys! It was the BEST part of the whole trip! We got to encounter Dolphins in the ocean, they swam right up to us, and I got some Awesome Pictures! We got to go as fast as we wanted to; the water was so pretty and so smooth! Then time to get back on the Ship at 3pm to leave the Keys! Had a going away party on the Lido Deck leaving the Keys, it was fun! Went to a show tonight (Mambo Dance Show) and then another awesome dinner with singing and dancing!

The 4Th Day we docked at Nassau Bahamas from 12pm until 10pm, we got off the Ship and found the Bus #10 ($1.25 per person, 1 way) that took us to the Sheraton Hotel and this is where we bought our day passes and spent the whole day! It was $25 per person to spend the whole day. That included using everything on their property, a beach towel, beach chairs, usage of their non motorized water sport items, 4 swimming pools (including 1 heated swim up to the bar pool), their eating place, their restrooms (big plus), and their private Nice Beach area! It was nice to have a place to hang that was pretty and have drinks while sitting on the beach or by 1 of their Awesome pools!! I would Totally Recommend this as your day while in the Bahamas because the ocean is So worth Seeing and Playing in, clear as normal bath water! So Pretty and Clean! Don't forget your underwater camera! We left the Sheraton around 5pm, caught the Bus #10 again to take us back to the Ship. We did a little bit of shopping at the Straw Market and then went and hung out at Senior Frogs for a while, this place was rocking; free drinks for all those that were dancing! We got back on the Ship around 7pm because when it started getting dark we really didn't feel that safe so we got ready for dinner and again had a most awesome dinner with singing and dancing!

The 5Th Day (last day) we had another fun day at sea! It was another relaxing day! Our 5 year Anniversary Day! We watched a guy carve an ice sculpture, that was cool!! They had a Hairy Man Chest Contest, where they picked 7 men out of the crowd who were the hairiest and then they choose 3 female judges that were willing to do anything, needless to say, I was Judge #3! It was So Much Fun! I had to Dance with all of them and smell them, and then I got to pour a bucket of Cold Ice Water onto the guy I thought smelled the worst! It was all for the fun! My husband stood over to the corner and laughed at me the whole time! We went to another show tonight (80's Dance Show) and then for our final dinner of our cruise! Tonight at dinner we were brought a cake and sang to for our anniversary, thought that was nice but yet funny because of how and what they sing to you. Something we will never forget that's for sure! Again left us with memories of more singing and dancing for a farewell. After dinner we went to a comedy show in the Ritz Area and it was crowded but found us seats at the bar, it was really something funny to listen to for a last night on the Ship! We stayed up on the Lido Deck really late this night since it was our last night on the Ship enjoying the breeze off of the ocean and listening to the ocean water all around us!

Docking back at Jacksonville, our 6Th day. We left out of our room around 8:30am and went to the Lido Deck and waited until they called our number so we could exit the ship; we didn't have to wait long.

This was our 1st Cruise and we can't wait to go again! Everything was awesome and went smoothly! We are hooked! If your looking for a fun time without kids this is the way to go! I'm not a picky person so I found Carnival Awesome! Less

Beds and Pillows were Very Comfortable! Closest Space was just enough! Loved the Safe Box inside our Room! Bathrooms had more room than I expected!

When we got off the Ship at Nassau, everyone started coming up to us wanting us to do tours with them or take us somewhere we just kept on passing them up, but heck they would come back and walk beside you and then you had to basically be mean and tell them Hey I'm not interested, they would eventually leave you alone. We had everything planned when we got off the Ship! We went to Bus #10 which was $1.25 per person (1 way) which took us to the Sheraton Hotel where we were going to spend the day. (Bring exact Change for the Bus). Beware the people in Bahamas drive like crazy people, hold on while on the Bus! The Sheraton is about a 20 minute ride out from the Port and oh so worth it! We walked in and told them we wanted to buy a day passes and they said no problem, $25 per person which included a beach towel and use of their whole property. The ocean is So Clear, like Regular Bath Water! We took an underwater camera and got some awesome underwater pictures of fish and ourselves. We found us some beach chairs and hung out! We also got us some drinks and hung by 1 of their pools! They had live entertainment with music going on which made it even more relaxing! We had some lunch at their outdoor cafe, which was nice but take in mind Very Expensive! When it came time to leave we gave them back the beach towels and caught the Bus #10 back to the Port, again paying our $1.25 per person and holding on the whole way back! When we got back to Port we shopped a little at the Straw Market and went to Senior Frogs (rocking place)! When it got dark we decided not to be in the streets of Bahamas so we went back to the Ship! We had a Great Day while porting at Nassau, Bahamas! I would highly recommend going and taking advantage of the day passes that the Sheraton Hotel have! Their property is Excellent and Very Nice!
