Liberty of the Seas Great Ship,Great People

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
Embarkation: Barcelona

We have recently returned from our second RCI cruise and this was at least as good as the first. For us we both put on the pounds and the choice and variety of food was good. We used both Chops Grill and Portofino which were both excellent value and the murder Mystery night is to be recommended.
Anyone criticising the food must be used to 5 star plus dining every day of their lives.
The Cabin steward Franklyn was exceptional and when RCI managed to break a wheel of one of our cases the attitude of all involved was concerned and when it could not be repaired they replaced the case with a new one. Full marks for customer service.
The shows were top quality although we did not attend the end of cruise final show.
Apart from the usual Brit thing about tipping on tips and more (please can the industry pay a decent wage and allow clients to tip for good service?), and the fact that all advertised pricing does not include tax, we have nothing but praise for the cleanliness More of the ship and the friendliness of the staff.
Great value for money cruise. We intend using RCI again for our next cruise. Less

Cabin review: Liberty of the Seas Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom Deck 6 6648

6648 has a larger balcony than some and a slightly larger interior with room behind the curtain for storage. It is not far from the lifts. There was no noise from people passing by and in all repsects was just as expected.

Port and Shore Excursions

A must see. Too much to do in one day but consider spending a few days here before or after your cruise. It also means there is no mad rush for the plane at the end!!

Dirty filthy chaotic with many pick pockets and we did not feel safe in some of the areas. Go on the trips to Vesuvius/Pompeii as others came back having had a much better time than us.

Go on the train to Monaco and Monte Carlo. Lots to see and do there. Trains cheap and every 30 minutes. Station easy to find at both ends.
