We were on this ship september 10 to the 17th 2011, and had a great time. This was my first cruise ever, my wife was on one as a child. We were very nervous being my first time and our biggest vacation we have ever booked.
The Carnival crusie line did an excellent jobf moving things along and embarking on our journey. We went out of Miami and check in and boarding went smooth. The ship itself was very nice and clean, even with almost 3000 people on board we never really felt cramped or crowded. The only time that was is when we first boarded and everyone went to the lido deck because rooms weren't ready yet.
The staff throughout the ship was helpful and friendly. Our stewart, can't remember his name but he did the riviera deck during this trip. He was great, always smiling, referred to us by name always followed through on requests. The entertainment and activities were good, though the schedule was so packed everyday it was difficult to keep track of what is going on where, we often missed things. We found it better to carry the flyer with us and go with the flow, if we came upon something good we went to it, if not oh well.
The food was good, though the mongolian grill was very busy most times. The only shock was the prices of soda and alcohol. The prices were typical of going to a sporting event or concert $2 soda and 7.50 alcohol, butthen they add 15% gratuity o all drinks so it got expensive if you weren't careful.
The comedians on the first half were disappointing, they seemed unprepared and tried to wing it but not well. The second half ones, J Lewis and, can't reember the other, were very good. Shows were fun and there was always soething to do. It was a great experience in that if you are busy body like me, there is always something going, or if you want to relax and read / people watch you can do that too, there were plenty of places quiet or busy you could find.
Highly recommend this ship and cruise line.
