We are first time cruisers. My wife and I went on a cruise to Roatan, Honduras and Cozumel, Mexico out of Miami, FL. The weather was not very friendly for the beginning of the cruise, but the second half was great.

First off, we used the curbside porters (thinking that is the only way to get our bags up). We boarded the ship and were greeted with complimentary champagne and went to our room. We had an inboard stateroom on deck 9. Room was small, but no more so than I expected. Perfect for us since we were only there to sleep and change clothes (and excellent at night because it is so dark!). After our bags arrived an hour or so later, I noticed a stain on the outside. We had securely packed our allotted amount of 2 wine bottles inside our checked bag. The porters had not handled our luggage with any type of care and bent the metal frame of our bag and broken one of the bottles of red wine. It stained all of my dress clothes and a few of my wives clothes. This was an infuriating and stressful way to start a cruise.

I went to guest relations and they offered to launder the clothes for free and see if the stain would come out. They said they could not do anything about the bag and when asked, replaced our broken bottle of wine with a new one.

Cabin 09

At the end of the hall, sometimes hear crew door shut behind us. Can be loud in afternoon if napping because it is below the pool deck and stage. Really dark when lights are out.
