My wife and I sailed on the Ventura in Sept of this year on the West Med cruise and feel the need to write having read so many pointless and negative comments.
Having read some reviews on the cruise we went on we would like to offer some support to P and O and the crew/staff of Ventura.
1.Itinery and excursions are self explanatory prior to booking so should come as no surprise that we were at sea for three days and not calling at ports not in the west med!
2.The food was faultless, a la carte is meant to be small portions, its quality, not quantity.Bigger portions are available at the self service buffet all day if that is what you want.
3.The bar service may have confused some, including us at first, but with the idea of being waited "on"it worked very well, and as we were on holiday there was no rush!
4.All staff were always polite and curtious, even when dealing with the rudest of passengers(which occured quite frequently).Indeed this was probably the most frustrating element of the cruise!. Clearly the more people get,the more people want!.
5.Cabin was always clean and tidy. Cleaned at least twice a day
6.Entertainment was top quality and varied, if you couldn't find something you liked it was your own fault!
7.There was never any surprises on the account,it only showed things that we purchased!!
Hope this helps anyone planning a cruise on Ventura, please do not be put off by people who obviously expect too much!
P S Dear P and O can you arrange for the Bay of Biscay To be Less choppy Next Time, as we did feel a little seasick on the way home!!!!.
