Best Cruise to Date

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Other

Had to write this because of some other comments in reviews about this ship.

We were totally satisfied and awed by this ship and staff. Ken Rush, Cruise Director, was all over the ship every day as were his staff. There was so much going on that we could have visited no ports and we would have still had a blast.

Of particular note was our dining room waiter, Tony and his assistant, Mauricio. They were terrific and we waited and wanted for nothing. We were able to order a couple items from the up-charge restaurants and one in our party ordered a Filet that he said was great.

The entertainment was also top shelf. Lots of live bands and of course Chicago which was very well staged. The comedy show is a must see. The guys that we saw were very funny and we thought it was one of the best shows we have seen. They say adults only and take that to heart.

If there was anything we were not happy with is was 150 Central Park. This is an up-charge restaurant. The More service was excellent as was the food but it was just a tad stuffy. The head waiter was from Turkey and he was hard to understand and had no sense of humor. I chalk that all up to language issues. Fix that and I think we were ok.

RCL's big problem is going to be living up to their own reputation! I cannot imagine how they could have done anything any better. Book it! You will enjoy. Less

Cabin review: Allure of the Seas Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony Deck 6

Closet too close to the bed. Balcony was great. Cabins are very quiet.

Port and Shore Excursions

Larger port shopping but nothing too exciting. It was raining so I would have preferred to stay on the ship. Great stores but prices were actually better on board.

First was Labadee, Haiti. No surprises. Company owned area with all the typical water sports and BBQ. Second was Falmouth, Jamaica and looks like a work in progress. Great shopping and very friendly people. I have seen so many Carribean ports that they are all a blur. Take the side trips and skip some of the shopping next time.
