The Celebrity Silhouette was a stunner and we thoroughly enjoyed our Holy Land Cruise.
Food: The food was exceptional. We ate about half of our dinners in the MDR. Also tried Tuscan Grill, Qsine, and Murano. Each was fantastic. The food on the 14th Deck was also excellent. We chose to eat a light breakfast in our room each morning. The service was prompt and the presentation was beautiful. Our room service food was excellent.
The Ship: The ship was just beautiful. There were many activity options. We attended the history lectures and found the presenter very good, and very interesting. We especially enjoyed the pool area and the live entertainment. Everyone always seemed to be having a great time.
Entertainment: The entertainment was not as good as our previous cruise, but entertaining none-the-less. We thought that Nick Weir was fun to watch, such a bundle of energy! The Celebrity singers and dancers were excellent and loved the first show of Broadway tunes. We were less enthusiastic with the circus show. Some of the comedians just weren't that funny, in our opinion. The string trio, Sidra, jazz ensemble, the pianist, DJ Constantine, and Aquaudio were simply outstanding and we took every opportunity we could to hear their music throughout our time on the ship.
Excursions: We booked seven excursions. Every tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. However, we felt like herded cattle. The Jerselem tour was especially bad, taking us backwards through the Via Dolorosa! Often we were not allowed to stop and shop in the marketplaces we passed, citing that we had to stay on schedule. But there was time to visit a high priced shop obviously affiliated with the cruiseline. This was the only disappointing aspect of the cruise, but fortunately this can easily be fixed by scheduling private tours in the future, which we will do.
Service: This was impeccable. Kudos to Manuel and Elvis on the 12th deck, and Maria and Ernesto in the dining room. Beyond that, every single person we encountered was friendly and helpful every time. I don't know how they do it. Guest Relations was great!
Overall, an outstanding experience. We agree with a previous reviewer that the Captain was a riot!
