Danube River Cruise

Sail Date: September 2011
Destination: Europe - River Cruise
Embarkation: Budapest

We just completed our first river cruise on Uniworld's River Beatrice up the Danube from Budapest to Passau Germany.

Everything was great. The ship was excellent. What the cabin lacked in space was made up in the decor. Definitely 5 star furnishings.

The food was excellent with many of the meals representative of the region you where travelling through.

The staff was always available, very helpful and very friendly.

The excursions included with the cruise were great with excellent and very knowledgeable guides.

I would highly recommend this cruise. Less

Cabin review: River Beatrice Cat 2 Danube Deck 307

Cabin 307 was well appointed with a french balcony. When you open the the sliding door you really got the feel of floating on the water. Decor was wonderful. The shower was a bit small but similar to other showers on most ships.

Port and Shore Excursions

Budapest , where the cruise began is a city not to be missed. The tour of this city was excellent with all of the key attractions visited. Recommend you get there a day early and explore the city. Vienna, is a wonderful place to visit. Just enjoy the place. Melk. The monastery in this port is the highlight of the area. You have to see it to believe it. Linz and Salzburg. The ship docks in Linz and you are bused to Salzburg. Salzburg is a wonderful place but in my opinion it has become over commercialized since my last visit 15 years ago. However it is still worth the time to visit. If you time walk around Linz. You won't be disappointed. Passau. A great little historic town. The organ recital was not worth the half hour unless you are really into that type of music.
