Boarding the Ship at Southampton was the easiest embarkation ever ,we were out of our car and on board in about 15 mins and another 10 mins to find our cabin. We dumped our hand luggage and went to explore the ship ,we headed to the back of the ship and immediately found our "spot" at the hot tub area.We spent most of our daytime sunbathing there,it also had an adults only pool and a bar and the horizon was just through the doors to the side PERFECT!!
Our cabin was an inside which was a first for us but we had no problem with it ,the best bit is it is so quiet and being at the front of the ship there was very little traffic going back and forth ,although the first night was a bit rocky and we could hear the waves crashing against the bow !! but there was plenty of space for all our bits and bobs and we had brought our own hangers so no problem there.
We found the food to be really good and used the horizon all the time,we would find a seat and then one would get their meal and then the other would go so no cold food !! we found it to be piping hot at all times and the staff were very pleasant.
The only thing we had a gripe about is the price of the drinks plus the 15% gratuity ,we enjoy a drink on the nights out so ended up with a $1400 bar bill, but this included wine at dinner lol .We had budgeted for this so not too much of a shock !!
All in All we had an absolute ball and I also celebrated my 60th birthday on the 21st September with balloons and a poster and a birthday cake ,it was terrific .
Lastly ,a special mention for our steward Marlon who kept us very comfy for the whole trip ,nothing was a bother to him.
