First time cruisers!

Sail Date: October 2011
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

Cabin: We decided on an interior cabin since it was our first cruise and didn't know how much time we could spend in it. The cabin was adequate but you have no idea if it is daylight or night out, definately bring a night light if you choose an interior cabin. The room was very well kept all week by our cabin steward and found that the only time we were there was to sleep or shower so I would have no problems booking an interior again.

Food: We had heard how good food was on a cruise, and was really looking forward to it. The food was good, not excellent in the main dining room, most evenings, we had late dining, the food was not very warm. The selections were adequate and if you didn't like the selections there was always a steak or chicken you could order. The pasta bar was very good, lasagna excellent, but the service was a bit slow, I recieved my lasagna and was twenty minutes till the other one at the same table was served. Breakfast buffet was good, not great, the sit More down breakfast was very good did that two days, would recommend doing that at least one day. Pizza was tasty though we only had it once.

Entertainment: We went to two shows, there signature show, the name of which I can't remember at this time was excellent, I don't like these type of shows and was surprised how good it was. The country show, 8 seconds, was awful, many people walked out including us. We went to three adult comedy shows, they were entertaining but not spectacular.

Boat: There has been a lot written about how bad the Dream rocks, We didn't think it was bad at all, except for the last night and from what we were told were were going through 14 foot waves so some rocking was understandable, but it was not bad enough to make us sick. The Dream is very clean and modern, lots to do all the time and found the overall cruise a good time.

Excursions: We were highly disappointed in the cave tubing in Belize, we were told that the river was too high and dangers of flash flooding by the Carnival guide, yet we talked to other people not booked through Carnival that they did the original excursion. The substitute excursion was ok, but not what we paid for. Cozumel bar hop is a good time. We had never snorkeled before and we snorkeled at Tabyana Beach Carnival excursion, it was absolutely incredible! Beautiful beach and a great coral reef about 30 feet off the beach. Maya Chan in Costa Maya was great except the water had a bad oder the day we were there.

Bottom line, great boat, great time, met a lot of great people! Less
