DAY 1 - SUNDAY - 1/23/05 - PORT OF MIAMI

Our group of 6 arrived at the port at 11:30 a.m. and were able to get checked in and on board without delay. After taking carry-ons to our cabins and checking everything over to verify cabins were in order, we had lunch at the Windjammer. While waiting for luggage to arrive, I called for reservations at Portofino's for that evening and for Wednesday evening, opting for Italian over Caribbean menu featured in the dining room on Wednesday.

Two of our E-1 balcony cabins were adjoining: 8612 & 8614 on deck 8 port side ... these are located on the forward part of the "bowed out" area near elevators and gave a great view when arriving in ports. They are also just steps from the Internet room on deck 8. We originally had 8610 booked as well but changed to 8544 with sleeper sofa thinking it was needed for an added person. About 30 minutes before leaving port my daughter and I, with digital cameras in hand, headed for a spot on the bow for the best photo op location.
