What did we enjoy most about this cruise ?
1/ P & O do try hard to give you a good time, by giving you very good service whether it may
be in the cabin, the buffet restaurants or the main restaurants & varied, good quality
entertainment at any time throughout the ship.
2/The staff are polite, efficient & well trained, whatever their duties.
3/The ship is immaculately presented, both in the cabins & the public areas.
4/P & O's alcohol policy is very good compared to other cruise lines. For example oassengers
are allowed to take drink aboard whether it be on embarkation from Southampton or at any of
the ports of call.Prices on board are similiar to our pub prices.
5/On our last night we ate at the 17 restaurant. We paid an extra £20 each supplement & we
thoroughly reccomend it.
6/We can recommend visiting Cascais, half an hour on the local train (cost 2.45 euros each
way) just up the coast from Lisbon. It's a delightful resort to wander around & it is well
worth a visit.
What did we not enjoy ?
1/ there is an unseemly rush from one venue to another in order to see the most popular
shows, when the timing could be more staggered to avoid this.
2/ We heard from several people that the organised trips to Casablanca were very
disappointing. We caught the shuttle bus to the "city" centre & were equally disappointed, as
it is dirty, with major road works going on.It might sound exotic but We wish that we had
stayed on the ship.
3/On this particular itinerary we spent the first day at sea, which of course is not unusual,
this was followed by 5 ports of call on successive days & then 2days sailing to get
home.Obviously we new this before we went but we feel that this could have been avoided with
better planning.
