From the moment we arrived on board, we were hassled to buy drink packages instead of purchasing drinks with every meal. We were approached by six different sales people in our first half hour on the boat (during the welcome drink party). We were also approached every day at lunch and dinner. It became very annoying. The only drinks included for our teenagers was water - juice and soft drink were at an extra cost. The kids room had play stations but these also cost extra to use. Every morning and afternoon tea, the same food was dragged out - doughnuts, same muffins and same danish every single day. There was no fresh milk to tea and coffee - all powdered creamer. The onboard activities were all very boring - things like how to fold a towel into a swan shape. Again, nothing for teenagers. We saw three different shows during our five nights on board - they just recycled the same shows over and over. The onboard movies were all old movies like Casablanca or Wizard of Oz - again, nothing for teenagers and the same movies showing the whole week. Not a lot of variety with the food or the entertainment. The food in Bella Vista was great, but the Chinese restaurant has real authentic Asian food, which is not what westerners are used to. We were very disappointed in that aspect of the cruise. The cabins were fine but we would not travel with Star Cruises again. We didn't do any of the port excursions - it was better value to just hire a taxi driver to show us around.
The balcony cabins are small but plenty big enough for two. It was lovely being able to sit on the balcony and relax. The bathrooms are really small and you feel quite claustrophobic with the door closed. You really need to step outside to dry yourself off. There is plenty of storage space. No face washers supplied and you cannot purchase any on board the ship so bring a washer with you.
