Our first time with Celebrity cruises as we decided best one to go to Alaska with. Century an older boat, and certainly in need of a refurbishment. Very disappointed that when viewing Hubbard Glacier from Hemisphere room, most of the glass panels were "blown" and vision out of them impossible. Our cabin was fine, kept clean and no complaints at all. Our one big gripe was that when my husband and I tried to sit in the Rendezvous lounge and read, and bearing in mind there was nobody else in the lounge, the waiter put the music on maximum level. When asked by my husband if the music could be softer, was told that the music was preset and could not be altered. We left and spent the rest of our time reading in the library. Not what we have had on other cruise ships. The food was more than adequate and could not fault the quality or quantity. However, what part of "formal" do people not understand? Jeans and t-shirts are NOT formal wear and should not have been allowed in dining room. No one was asked to change.

The ports of call were DIRE. Icy Strait Point was a landing stage and a one mile walk to Hoohan which consisted of some "shacks", a couple of stores with very little in them, a school house, church and court house. I presume that the cruise ships only tender here to allow more guests to go on excursions around this area. Juneau and Ketchikan are also towns that could be missed!

Celebrity seem only able to sell, sell, sell and this can be very uncomfortable for people who do not want to spend, spend, spend.
