Embarkation was not as smooth as some of the other ports we have been to, it appeared slow and unorganized to us in Miami.
Half Moon Cay- This is Carnivals private island we enjoyed our visit, a very nice beach.
St. Thomas, we took the Champaign Sail and Snorkel through Carnival to St.Johns Island. This was a fun time the snorkeling was not that good, however the ride was fun and the alcohol was flowing on the return trip.
Puerto Rico, we went to the Rain Forest through carnival, it was a nice visit, the great guide made it fun.
Grand Turk, we had dune buggies scheduled, Carnival changed our time from 11:30 to 1:30 we did not like the time change so we canceled they refunded our money at the Customer Service Desk no questions ask. We went to the pool and the beach very nice pool and beach.
Entertainment - Pretty standard for Carnival nothing really made it stand apart.
Scarlett's Steakhouse, we went there on my wife's birthday, we found the service and food to be excellent and worth the added expense for a special dinner. $30.00 per person plus tip.
Chefs Table, they do take you behind the scenes and it is informative, however we thought this was just ok and not worth the added expense. $75.00 per person plus tip.
Dining room, the food was as expected and served warm not cold as on some past cruises.
Buffet, standard food nothing special
The service that we received on the Valor from the room steward Mr.M customer service representatives even the clerk in the store far surpassed the staff on previous cruises with Carnival. We were highly impressed with the courteous, professional and fun staff. We look forward to another cruise on the Valor!
