Great anniversary cruise

Sail Date: September 2011
Destination: Canada & New England
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

We had an amazing time on the cruise! Staff was helpful and friendly throughout cruise, food was super yummy, and boat was extremely clean. A few negatives along the way, but would defiantly cruise this ship again!

Embarkment was slow (1 1/2 hours) and we arrived at 12:30. I had challenged my self with packing lightly and we took 2 carry-on sized roller boards and 2 backpacks on our 10 day trip. I highly recommend packing lightly because it saved us the wait for our luggage, less time unpacking/packing, and easily disembarked within 5 minutes using self-assist. We did 2 loads of laundry midweek, but was easily completed while getting ready one evening.

Food was the best from the 3 cruises we have been on. Lobster, crab cakes, Bitter and Blanc, cream brulee, French toast, and shrimp are all recommended. We honestly did not have a bad meal! Fish and Chips was ok, wok, burrito bar are highly recommended for alternative dinning.

We were by far some of the More youngest people on the cruise, but it was fine for us. We enjoyed some of the shows, but were disappointed with the costumes of the dancers (definitely not PG rated as indicated. The family friendly comedians were good and the hypnotist was the best show. The spa has the hottest hot tube and my husband enjoyed the gym.

We had an inside cabin with lots of storage room and adequate space. The bed was terrible through! When we requested a pad on the bed, our steward placed a blanket over the bed with the sheet over...didn't really help, but we were normally so tired that sleep came easily.

Other negatives include cabin stewards crowding hallways with carts and waking us up early with loud noises in hallway (before 8 am). In dinning room, halway through meal, be prepared for loud noise and to watch everyone cleaning dishes, stocking dishwasher containers, wading up table clothes, and did I say being very loud! Dinning room was lacking elegance and it was annoying to experience this each evening.

We were highly pleased and the ports were interesting and slow paced, which we enjoyed. St. John, we walked to the Reversing Falls, Halifax, walked to Citadel, Boston, city tour, and Portland, we did our own trolly tour and saw the Portland Headlight (very beautiful!!!!)

We stood at sail aways on the very front of decks 6 and 7 and at times were alone! Not widely known about area and was great! Go all the way forward and to the right is 2 doors leading outside.

We would cruise this ship again despite the negatives. Less
