Splendid Sailing Trip On The Splendor!

Sail Date: September 2011
Destination: Mexican Riviera
Embarkation: Los Angeles

My husband & i drove into Long Beach from out of state & stayed at the Holiday Inn downtown they offered a great deal on a stay & sail package, which offered free shuttle service to & from Carnival along with free covered parking. Our room was great & so was the staff & service all at a very affordable rate i would highly recommend & stay with them again in the future.

Our shuttle got us to Carnivals port at a decent time we waited in a shady seated area for about 45 min's before being checked in by Carnivals staff, once we were checked in we went up to the Lido deck & lunch was ready for us which was really good. While eating lunch they were preparing our rooms & they were ready for us by 2pm which worked out great.

We had scheduled early dining which was in The Black Pearl, the menu, food & service was great we had an awesome waiter Reggie along with his team they had our section laughing & looking forward to seeing them every More night their dinner service was excellent.

We also enjoyed going to the comic shows & the shows that our cruise director Todd & his assistant Stephanie & other cruise staff members would put on,they were fun to watch & get in on like the quiz games or just whatever they were doing. = ) Todd was very helpful & thorough with all of his announcements with the passengers, which really helped newcomers like us. We also got to meet the Captain who was very friendly & he to was thorough with his announcements. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

The Splendor crew was very organized in getting us off the ship & on to the tenders(taxi boats)in a safely manner. We didn't really go on an excursion in Cabo instead we walked around on our own doing some shopping and went to the Cabo Wabo Cantina for lunch. We had a great time just doing our own thing,we didn't stray to far away from Carnivals port or other passengers because we weren't to familiar with Cabo. The people in Cabo were very friendly & helpful whenever we had any questions, for instance i ordered a drink & i said NO ICE the waiter asked if i was afraid of it & i said yes he assured me that Carnival & Sammy Hagar guarantees that the water is safe. Hey it's better to safe then sorry! I did have the ice & no after effects. = )

All i can say about this was Wow!! We took the Exclusive Resort excursion & had the time of our lives! They also offered all you can eat & drink & free use of Kayaks & boogie boards at this resort. This place was amazing & the staff their was excellent! We got off the ship & road a nice air conditioned bus to the resort we spent some time on the beach and then went swimming in the pool which had tunnels & slides. The staff also sang & danced for everyone & we all played tequila volleyball it was so much fun we didn't wanna leave.
